Please look at http://couldntgetagoodname.com/intranet and give me some feedback on ways that I can improve it.
I designed the site for a class assignment. We had to design a presentation in a file format of our choice and then save it as a pdf file with various attributes. From the list of topics, I chose "Information Anxiety" and created the presentation as a website. I made sure that the final pdf met all of the requirements and have already turned in the assignment (so don't worry about any of those aspects in your critiques), but I'd like to fine tune the original website and save it for my portfolio. I want to use the portfolio to apply to a graduate level information design program next year. Of course, if you can also think of any suggestions to improve the site that would make it useful for helping me to get work, that would be great also!
Thanks!
Michelle

I don't have any suggestions at the moment, but I sure like what you did! It's very impressive -- you're hired. _________________ [Fun Tagline Goes Here]

Thanks, Dean. Too bad you aren't really hiring. |

Good presentation, Michelle. One suggestion I have is to add an outline page so users can see the flow and structure of the presentation and also jump directly to any topic that interests them.
From a purely aesthetic point of view, I like the design. Only small, nitpicky problems: the entire row of tabs is shifted over one pixel too far to the left in Mozilla 1.7, and the main "Practical Solutions" page has a different top margin than all the other pages, making the page appear to "jump" when navigating to or from it.
I hope they gave you a good grade on this! _________________ I like my fonts like I like my coffee: bold and condensed. |

Thanks, Susanna! I did more on the assignment than was required since I wanted to use it again after the class ended, so I did get a good grade on the assignment. So far I'm making straight A's. :-)
My cable is down at home again, so I'm on the internet at the library today. I will see what I can do to fix those problems when I am at home. I think I'm also going to re-work the text a little bit.
I appreciate you taking the time to look the site over and letting me know what you found. |
